From the sketch it may be seen that the minimum gage is that dimension whichallows all elements of the bolt assembly to clear the fillet of the beam. Themaximum gage would be that dimension which causes the minimum edge distanceto be achieved. The tabulated gages are those which have been accepted in common usage for many years as workable or usable.
